The engagingly quirky Ford Tourneo Connect is an exceptionally practical and spacious people carrier that is fun to drive.
While van-like in appearance, the Tourneo Connect actually has more in common with the Ford Focus, resulting in a nice-looking MPV that offers plenty of flexibility for busy families. Whether ferrying children or cargo (or a combination of both), sliding side doors make access as easy as possible, particularly if you’re parked in a tight spot. You’ll find it easy to get comfortable too, thanks to an eight-way-adjustable driver’s position, while the front-seat passenger benefits from a four-way-adjustable seat.
Large windows ensure that the cabin has a light and airy feel while providing excellent all-round visibility. There’s plenty of space for five adults (plus two more if you select the seven-seat option), especially when it comes to headroom. What’s more, with rear seats folded, a pretty cavernous 1,529-litre luggage capacity becomes available.
A standard-issue 1.0-litre 99bhp petrol engine produces CO2 emissions from 129g/km. Even more efficient is a 1.5-litre 99bhp diesel unit, which emits just 115g/km. A 118bhp diesel engine option is also available, with each model offering exceptional fuel economy and affordable running costs.
A six-speaker sound system (with DAB radio and CD player), Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and voice activation functionality are all included as standard. As well as passive safety features such as multiple airbags, seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX child-seat attachments, a number of driver aids are in place. Included, for example, is a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, which continuously analyses tyre pressure, alerting the driver to any significant deviation.
