The easy-to-drive Ford Kuga provides a comfortable ride in its spacious cabin, and it’s no slouch when it comes to travelling off-road either.
The Kuga boasts a stylishly athletic build that hints at its off-road prowess. The vehicle’s elevated ride height not only offers sufficient ground clearance for more rugged terrain, it makes getting in and out of the cabin a straightforward experience. Open one of four doors, and you’ll discover a roomy interior that easily accommodates five adults. The Kuga’s 456-litre boot space should suffice in most instances. However, if you require more capacity, simply drop the rear seats flat to the floor and you’ll have a 1,653-litre cargo volume at your disposal. Moreover, a wide tailgate aperture and flush-to-the-floor load lip make placing and retrieving bulky items as simple as possible.
With an entry-level 1.5-litre 120bhp petrol engine installed, this SUV delivers up to 6.3l/100km and produces CO2 emissions of 164g/km. The most potent engine option, meanwhile, is a 2.0-litre 150bhp diesel unit that produces 370Nm of torque and 0-100kmph in 9.9 seconds, while managing up to 7.2l/100km.
Ford SYNC is included as standard, offering voice control, USB connectivity and more. A six-speaker sound system is included too, with DAB radio. Ford SYNC 3 (comprising an eight-inch touchscreen display, navigation functionality and full smartphone integration) is available with next-level Titanium trims.
Awarded a maximum five-star Euro NCAP crash-test rating, the Kuga comes with numerous passive safety features, including multiple airbags and seatbelt reminders. A host of driver aids are also fitted, such as Anti-lock Braking System – and Electronic Stability Control, which helps deliver enhanced traction on a range of surfaces.
