The Ford KA+ is an affordable and easy-to-drive supermini that offers more space and practicality than its outward appearance might lead you to expect.
The good-looking KA+ is ideal for urban motoring, its compact dimensions ensuring that it’s able to handle busy streets with ease – and slip into most parking spaces. A four-door body allows up to three rear-row travellers to get in and out of the car as simply as possible. The KA+ features plenty of useful stowage cubbies that are dotted around the cabin, as well as a 270-litre boot space, which outdoes that which is offered by either the Hyundai i10 or ŠKODA Citigo. Need more cargo volume? Simply drop the car’s rear seats and you’ll have 849 litres’ worth at your disposal.
The KA+ comes with plenty of engine options. For instance, a standard-issue 1.2-litre 70bhp petrol unit delivers up to 5.8l/100km and produces CO2 emissions from 130g/km. Providing even greater power is a 1.2-litre 85bhp engine which continues to impress with its levels of fuel economy and CO2 emissions.
Entry-level Style grades are fitted with a four-speaker sound system, featuring DAB radio and AUX and USB inputs – and Bluetooth connectivity that enables audio streaming and handsfree telephony. Zetec and Active trims, meanwhile, add two more speakers, extra USB sockets, a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and full Android and Apple smartphone integration.
The KA+ comes with range of passive safety features, such as multiple airbags, seatbelt reminders and ISOFIX child-seat attachments. A number of driver aids are included as standard, too. For instance, Electronic Stability Control automatically applies braking pressure and reduces torque in order to prevent skidding.
