Hello, I am Stephen Byrne, Senior Sales Executive here at Spirit Land Rover. I have over 20 years’ experience in the business I have seen plenty of new cars released, but never anything quite like the All New Defender!
I have never seen a vehicle with a bigger following than this Land Rover. The pressure was most certainly on for Land Rover to create something special. We, at Spirit Land Rover, have been getting calls and inquiries about Defender for the past five years. Demand and interest were there but we were all wondering if the new model could live up to all the hype.
They say good things come to whose who wait, don’t they? Well, that is certainly the case with New Defender. I am delighted to say that New Defender has exceeded my expectations!
New Defender Body Styles
Many of us imagine a Defender travelling across deserts or scaling hills. It was traditionally a working vehicle but now, there is a Defender for everyone. It is available in two different body styles, customers can pick between a 90 (which is a 3-door vehicle) or a 110 (a 5- door vehicle) or a Commercial vehicle. There is also a wide range of engines – Petrol, Diesel, Plug-In Hybrid and even the promise of a fully electric Defender coming down the line. Land Rover have definitely delivered on choice!

New Defender will take you anywhere. With its Terrain Response 4WD you can simply select the driving mode you wish dependent upon the terrain ahead and let the Defender do its thing.

The most exciting thing about New Defender is its versatility. You would happily drive this vehicle everyday to school or around town. At the weekend, you could easily tackle that trail you have always dreamed about. Or thanks to its impressive 3.5 tonne towing capacity, you could take the boat or horse box out without any hassle. Whether you want to work or play, Defender will help you get there.
New Defender has a level of refinement and technology that you would never have imagined was possible for this iconic vehicle. When I am out and about driving my Defender I am always surprised at the amount of genuine interest in the car. When I park up for a coffee or make a fuel stop there will always be someone looking and smiling at the car and keen to ask about it – I suppose there are plenty of SUV’S out there in the market place, but there is ONLY one Defender!
