What is my Jaguar Warranty?

Every new Jaguar comes with a 3-Year New Vehicle Warranty. With this peace of mind, you know that if any part of the vehicle requires repair or replacement as a result of a manufacturing defect, then it will be repaired or replaced free of change by us, regardless of any change of ownership during the 3 years.

We break down what it covers and what it doesn't below:

When does my warranty start?

Your vehicle warranty starts on the day that the vehicle is delivered/registered to the first retail customer and continues for three years or 100,000kms whichever comes first.

Does it cover accessories and tyres?

Only Genuine Jaguar accessories fitted by a Jaguar Authorised Dealer, within 1 month or 1600 km (whichever occurs first) of the handover of a new vehicle will benefit from the same warranty terms and period of cover as the new vehicle warranty.

Tyre defects are covered separately by the tyre manufacturer. However, we are happy to assist you with any tyre claim.

What are my responsibilities?

Check your Jaguar handbook and service portfolio to ensure you are keeping proper care of your vehicle. This includes doing required maintenance, regular cleaning of the bodywork and ensuring that all materials used meet Jaguar engineering specifications. This is important as a failure to perform the required maintenance on a timely basis and in accordance with Jaguar service intervals will invalidate warranty coverage on affected parts.

Make sure you bring your Jaguar to us for any warranty repairs as soon as a defect is discovered. This minimises the effect a defect has on your car and the nature of the repair that will be needed. You also need to ensure you keep all receipts for completed maintenance work. Confirmation of the work undertaken will be recorded in your service portfolio.

What does my Warranty not cover?

Vehicle warranty

The vehicle warranty does not cover items that are subject to adjustment or replacement during normal service or maintenance operations. In addition, Jaguar is not responsible for any repair or replacement that is required as a direct result of:

Normal wear and tear

  1. Failure to properly maintain the vehicle in accordance with Jaguar's maintenance schedules and service instructions
  2. Refilling or topping-up with incorrect fuel, e.g. petrol used instead of diesel
  3. Failure to use Jaguar specified parts or fluids (or parts of equivalent quality)
  4. Damage resulting from neglect, accident, or improper use
  5. Unauthorised modifications of the vehicle or parts (modifications outside of Jaguar specifications).

Paint surface and anti-corrosion warranty:

  1. Jaguar is not responsible for any repair or replacement that is required as a direct result of the following:
  2. Failure to properly maintain paint and bodywork by regular cleaning in accordance with Jaguar's instructions
  3. Failure to rectify on a timely basis any paint or corrosion damage recorded in the service portfolio by a Jaguar dealer/Authorised Repairer at the time of the annual inspection Factors beyond Jaguar's control, such as natural hazards (salt, industrial fall-out, storm damage, acid rain) and damage (including stone chips, scratches and use of unsuitable cleaning agents)
  4. Accident repairs using materials or methods of repair that have not been approved by Jaguar
  5. Alterations of the vehicle from Jaguar's original specification

Other exclusions

The Jaguar Warranty excludes liability for any lost time, inconvenience, loss of transportation, or any other incidental or consequential damage you (or anyone else) may incur because of a defect covered by this warranty.

Anti-corrosion warranty

Should any part of the bodywork of the vehicle be perforated by rust corrosion, the panels affected by the perforation will be repaired or replaced by any Jaguar dealer/Authorised Repairer, completely free of charge, regardless of any change in vehicle ownership.

The anti-corrosion warranty begins at the same time as the vehicle warranty and continues for a period of six years. The term 'perforation' means a hole that penetrates through the bodywork caused by corrosion from the inside or underside because of faulty manufacture or materials.

The term 'Bodywork' means metal panels (including doors, bonnet, engine and boot compartments, wings, sills, scuttles, roof, floor panel, structural frames and chassis members) but does not include road wheels and attachments such as bright trim, bumpers, mouldings and hinges.
