Introducing the Volvo XC40 – European Car of the Year 2018 & Irish Car of the Year 2019 – the small SUV that’s big on innovation. With expressive design, ingenious storage and smart technology, it’s built for city life.

The XC40 is the first car based on the new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), an advanced vehicle platform that will underpin all other upcoming Volvos in the 40 Series.

Volvo have designed the XC40 to be at home in the city or the countryside. Youthful, progressive and with SUV attitude, it is a car that makes a bold statement.

Design-wise, the XC40 is more of a cousin than a sibling to the larger 90 and 60 Series cars, with its own personality, expression and character. The XC40 is defined by a strong graphical design, a real feeling of strength and quality and a more playful nature in terms of colours and materials.

In the cabin, an innovative approach to all-round functionality provides drivers with plenty of storage space. The XC40 offers several large and smartly designed storage compartments in the doors, under the seats and in the boot.

The interior of the XC40 is inspired by contemporary street fashion, high-end designer goods and popular culture. It gives the XC40 a playful edge while retaining the attention to detail Scandinavian design is famed for.
