Volvo unveiled plans this month to have all cars produced from 2019 onwards to be either hybrid or electric, marking the end of an era dominated by the internal combustion engine (ICE).
To embrace electrification, Volvo will introduce a variety of electrified cars across its model range, including five fully electric cars that will be supplemented by an assortment of petrol and diesel plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid 48 volt options. This change will represent one of the most expansive electrified car offerings of any automaker, and is 'about the customer', according to CEO Hakan Samuelsson.
As people increasingly express interest and demand for electric cars, automakers will have to keep up if they want to avoid being left behind in the ICE of the 19th century. Spirit Motor Group welcomes and supports this exciting new venture of Volvo's, and we are already thrilled at the prospect of representing these cutting-edge vehicles in a few years.
